Responsibilities

The Information Technology Unit is responsible for internal support of the Colton Police Department. Ensuring the accessibility of systems and tools to assist in the performance of the duties of our organization is the primary focus.

The IT Unit is staffed by an Information Technology Coordinator with a broad range of expertise and over 30 years of experience in the technology field. The Police Department is also supported by the City's IT Department as needed.

All technology purchases are processed through the City's Purchasing Department; the IT Unit provides technical information regarding the purchase and will manage implementation of any technology project within the Police Department.
